What to expect at an emergency visit?
Arriving to your visit.
Upon arriving to our office, you will be greeted by our excellent patient coordinator team. They will verify any important information for your visit and have you complete an applicable forms. Our team will also verify your insurance and ensure we have the correct information for your visit.
Clinical intake.
Once taken back by one of our hygienists or assistants, we will chat with you about what your concerns are, what is causing pain, the type of pain, and other information we may need.
X-rays and photos.
After we understand your concerns, we will take one or more x-rays of the tooth or area of the mouth so our dentist can diagnose the issue. We also make take simple photos of your mouth as well.
Dentist exam.
Our dentist will review all the information gathered by the assistant and the x-rays and/or photos we've taken. They will then come into the room to chat with you about the problem and do an intraoral (inside of the mouth) exam.
Diagnoses and discussion.
While the dentist is in the room, they will go over the diagnoses of what is going on and provide the solutions and/or options to treat your concerns. We will listen to any concerns and answer any questions you may have in order to ensure your confidence in the solution.
Action.
After our dentist provides you with your diagnoses, action can take several forms. We may prescribe you an antibiotic, provide you at-home pain management options, provide you with treatment options (such as a filling, crown, extraction, etc), and/or refer you to a specialist such as a root canal specialist or an oral surgeon, depending on the diagnosis provided by our dentist.
