Dental implants
in Groveport, OH.
Dental implants are the closest thing to getting your natural teeth back. At Sedalia Dental, we offer comprehensive implant services, with solutions tailored to you. That can mean a single tooth, an implant bridge, or implant supported dentures and partials. Implants permanently improve function and fit, so you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
How implants work
A dental implant has three parts. The implant post is placed in the jawbone, where it acts like a tooth root. Over the following months, the bone grows around it and holds it firmly in place, a process called osseointegration. An abutment then connects the post to your new tooth, a custom crown, bridge, or denture that is designed to look natural.
Your implant options
A single implant with a crown replaces one missing tooth without changing the teeth next to it. When several teeth in a row are missing, an implant bridge can replace them using fewer implants. If you are missing most or all of your teeth, implant supported dentures and partials snap securely onto implants, so they will not slip or rub.
Planning in 3D
Careful planning is key to a successful implant. We use cone beam 3D imaging to see your jawbone, nerves, and surrounding teeth in detail, and digital impressions to capture a precise model of your mouth. That lets us evaluate whether you have enough bone and plan the right position for your implant.
Are you a candidate?
Most adults with good overall health and healthy gums can be candidates for implants. Enough jawbone to support the implant is important, and some patients need additional treatment first. Smoking and certain health conditions can affect healing. The best way to know is an evaluation. We will review your health history and imaging and walk you through your options.

Questions
about dental implants.
A dental implant is a post placed in the jawbone that acts like a tooth root. It supports a crown, bridge, or denture that looks and works like natural teeth.
It depends on your situation. After the implant is placed, the bone typically needs a few months to heal around it before your final tooth is attached. We will give you a timeline after your evaluation.
The area is numbed during treatment. Most patients report mild soreness for a few days afterward that is manageable.
Brush and floss around your implant just like your natural teeth, and keep up with regular checkups and cleanings.
Some patients need additional treatment to build up the bone first. We use 3D imaging to measure your bone and discuss your options.
Implants are more stable and help preserve the jawbone, while dentures are a less invasive option. Implant supported dentures combine the benefits of both. We will help you decide what fits your needs.
Coverage varies by plan. Our team can check your benefits, and financing is available through CareCredit and Cherry.
